breath of ice and an inhale of ice
i’m kneeling down in the park by my house
i’m wearing socks and a tee shirt
and i’m holding a knife
i don’t know anyone the way i want to 
i don’t control my life the way i want to
i don’t love life the way i want to
i rock back and forth
and my feet are wet and cold
and i am shivering
i bring my dog here when i can get myself around to it
he doesn’t play much with the other dogs
just sniffs and pisses and pushes forward
if only i could follow his lead
